What is a tithe?
The tithe represents the first ten percent of one’s income, a commitment that God calls His followers to give to the local church.
What does the Bible say?
Leviticus 27:30 says, A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord. 2 Corinthians 9:7, Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
Why should I tithe?
The purpose of tithing isn’t to benefit God, as He already has everything He needs and doesn’t depend on what we give. Tithing serves our well-being by instructing us to prioritize God in our lives and fostering a spirit of selflessness.
